How to get involved with the WRCF

While the WRCF encourages our members to volunteer and has several different committees that help run events, the best way to begin your involvement in the WRCF is by attending one of our events. Last year, the WRCF hosted over forty events. The majority of our events are free and open the Pagan community.

Every Month the WRCF hosts three to four different events. Moon Circle and Pagan Picnic are among those events. We also host eight Sabbats through out the year and classes on various topics.

The Pagan Picnic is one of the most popular regular events held in Orlando's beautiful Langford Park. It is a chance for all of us to get out of our houses and into the fresh air for a day of fun. Moon Circle is our monthly open Esbat. It is held in conjunction with the Mystic Grove Pagan Group at the First Unitarian Church of Orlando on the Wednesday closest to the full moon at 7pm. Moon circle is hosted by Awen and Peadair. Each Moon circle is a unique experience. Topics ranging from the how to celebrate the phrases of the moon or upcoming holiday to how to make loose incense or candles. Moon Circle is a free event and the space is donated by Mystic Grove. Volunteer Opportunities:

The WRCF has several committees which serve to organize our events and other activities for our members and the community. These committees also assist the WRCF Board in meeting the day to day needs of the WRCF. The WRCF's fund-raising and other activities are organized through a central mailing list, please e-mail us thru this site if you are interested in joining this list.

Sabbat Committee - This committee is responsible for arranging and scheduling WRCF Sabbats. There are lots of different areas in which you can help the Sabbat Committee. You can volunteer to help distribute flyers, help with the opening and closing of Sabbats, or assist in setting up the Potluck feast. Newsletter Committee - This committee is responsible for the WRCF's newsletter the Magick Words published eight times a year and is available to all WRCF members. The newsletter is our way of keeping WRCF members posted on upcoming events as well as providing them with topical articles, poetry, recipes and news. You can assist the wonderful editor of the Magick Words and the newsletter staff by submitting an article, poem or recipe or by offering to help fold and stamp the newsletter for mailing. Membership Committee - This is one of the most important WRCF Committees. Although, it is mostly clerical in nature, the Membership committee is responsible for greeting new members, maintain the membership data base and membership materials. If you would like to help in this vital areas, please contact us thru this site.

Some Notes on Volunteering:

Volunteers are the life blood of the WRCF, without our volunteers and the hours of work they put in the WRCF would cease to exist. In order for the WRCF to grow and to prosper, we will need the commitment of more volunteers in the future. There are lots of areas where volunteers are needed in the WRCF and some jobs take only an hour or two, while other require months of planning. We appreciate all the work of our volunteers whether they volunteer at every event or just offered a helping hand every once in a while.

However, before signing on to volunteer, we ask to take a moment and think about how much time you can honestly give to the WRCF. While we need volunteers, we do not wish for the time spent volunteering with us to come at the expense of anyone's personal, family or professional lives. Let us know what areas you are interested in volunteering and how much time you have available and we will help match you with something that works for you and your schedule.
